At TuSwap, we respect your right to control your personal data. If you decide that you no longer wish to use our Platform, you have the right to delete your account and all associated data permanently. This guide outlines the steps to delete your account and explains what happens to your information.
Step-by-Step Guide to Deleting Your Account
You can delete your account directly through the TuSwap mobile application. Please follow these simple steps:
- Open the App: Launch the TuSwap application on your mobile device.
- Go to Profile: Tap on the Profile icon located in the bottom navigation bar to access your user profile.
- Access Settings: In your profile view, look for the Settings icon (usually a gear icon) or a “Settings” menu option and tap on it.
- Find Account Management: Scroll down to the “Account” or “Privacy” section of the settings menu.
- Select Delete Account: Locate the option labeled “Delete Account” or “Close Account”.
- Confirm Deletion: You will be asked to confirm your decision. The app may ask for your password or a confirmation code to verify your identity.
- Note: This action is irreversible. Once confirmed, your account will be scheduled for deletion.
- Finalize: Tap “Confirm” or “Delete” to complete the process. You will be logged out of the application immediately.
What Happens When You Delete Your Account?
Deleting your account is a permanent action. Here is what happens to your data:
- Profile Removal: Your public profile, including your name, photo, and bio, will be removed from the Platform immediately. Other users will no longer be able to see your profile.
- Item Removal: All items or services you have posted for swap will be permanently deleted and removed from the marketplace.
- Chat History: Your chat history will be anonymized. While the messages you sent may still be visible to the recipients, your name and profile photo will be replaced with a generic “Deleted User” label.
- Personal Data: Your personal identification information (email, phone number, address) will be deleted from our active databases.
Data Retention
We aim to delete your personal data as quickly as possible. However, please note the following exceptions:
- Legal Obligations: We may retain certain transaction records for a specific period to comply with tax laws and financial regulations.
- Fraud Prevention: If your account was suspended or banned for violating our Terms of Service, we may retain certain identifiers to prevent you from creating a new account.
- Backup Systems: It may take a limited period (typically up to 30 days) for your data to be completely removed from our backup systems and archives.
Requesting Deletion via Email
If you are unable to access the app or prefer to request deletion manually, you can contact our support team:

- Include Details: Please include your registered email address and full name to help us locate your account.
